Where do I get a Gwinnett County, Georgia DUI Police report?

If you have been arrested for DUI in Gwinnett County Georgia, one of the first things you should consider doing is to obtain your DUI police incident report.  A DUI incident report may be obtained in person from any of the six Gwinnett County Police locations:

There is a $0.25 per page copying charge for incident reports and a flat fee of $5 for accident reports. DUI incident reports maybe requested by mail by sending a request including the case number, your name, and $3 for incident Reports or $5 for accident reports (check or money order, payable to "Gwinnett County Police") with a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Gwinnett County Police Department, Attn: Records, PO Box 602, Lawrenceville GA 30046. The police stations are closed on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and are open other days from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but are closed from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for lunch

DUI police incident reports may be obtained from Central Records of the DeKalb County Police Department in Tucker, Georgia just across I-285 from Northlake Mall.  The telephone number for DeKalb County Police Department Central Records is (770) 724-7740.  Their hours of operation are Monday -Friday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.  Effective June 7th, 2010, the hours for Central Records will be shortened to 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Central Records is closed on Saturday and Sunday.  Incident reports are $0.25 per page. Accident Reports are $5.00.  Criminal Background checks are $20.00.  The Address of DeKalb County Police Department Central Records is:

Expungements of criminal records may also be obtained for arrests made initially by DeKalb County Police Officers.  Expungements are $25.00. Expungements are generally only available by agreement with the Police and Prosecutor or under O.C.G.A. 35-3-37 (see generally, Burgess v. Meinken, 420 SE 2d 329 - Ga: Court of Appeals 1992) where the charges were dropped or without referral to the prosecuting attorney or dismissal prior to the filing of an indictment or accusation.

Persons seeking to have criminal records expunged must first request the orgininal agency (arresting agency) in writing to expunge the records using the form prescribed by the Georgia Criminal Information Center (GCIC).  The Application must be completed and submitted to the arresting agency with the required fee.  The Application is then processed and must be approved by the arresting agency and the applicable prosecutor either the Solicitor General or District Attorney's Office.  The expungement process can take anywhere from 6 to 9 months
